Controlled Hunts

Cokeley Farms Controlled HuntsFor those who don't have the time, private grounds or budget to pack up and travel for quality pheasant or quail hunting, Cokeleys has the answer. For the past thirty-two years, we have offered upland game bird hunts for pheasant, chukar, and quail. In controlled shooting, the hunters decide which species of bird they prefer and the number they wish to pursue in the field. Many hunters tell us that they couldn't even buy the gas to go elsewhere for the cost of the entire hunt at Cokeley Farms.

Basic packages from which to choose.

  • Package #1 - $135.00 per gun; Includes 4 Pheasant or 6 Chukar, or 9 Quail
  • Package #2 - $240.00 per gun; Includes 8 Pheasant or 12 Chukar, or 18 Quail...a 11%. savings
  • Mix & Match - The hunter also has the option to mix and match, for the same money, so a two species hunt is readily available.  If a guide with a dog(s) is required, the guide fee is $50.00 which can be split between the hunters in the group. Tips are greatly appreciated, as the guides are self-employed, provide their own trained dogs and pay all their own expenses. Please try to evaluate these circumstances as you would in any tipping situation, however, tipping is optional and is between the hunter and the guide. Cokeley Farms receives no revenue from guide fee, guide tips or bird cleaning fees.

When your hunting party's birds are to be set, one member of that party rides with the bird planter to observe; giving the hunters an idea where the birds will be. Pheasant and Chukars are set so they won't fly off when released.

If you prefer to stay out all day or order more birds to hunt that's ok, we have no time limits on hunts. When you choose a Guide please remember most hunters feel tipping in addition to the guide fee is necessary for the hard-working guide.

As stated above, tips are greatly appreciated, as the guides are self-employed, provide their own trained dogs and pay all their own expenses. Please try to evaluate these circumstances as you would in any tipping situation, however, tipping is optional and is between the hunter and the guide. Cokeley Farms receives no revenue from guide fee, guide tips or bird cleaning fees. It's not only the time out but the time they have invested in the dog training to make the hunt successful. A cleaning facility is located behind the clubhouse for those who want to clean the birds. Birds can also be cleaned by the guide for a nominal fee.
